9 Days: Her Story

Walking by Barnes and Noble Bookstore, I notice a stack of books piled on a table next to the window. The title of the first one catches my eye, and then I read the titles of the others.

There's a story here...

10 Days 2: A Rainy Day on Broadway

Another break in the hot days has me leaping from my bed and dashing out in to the rain.  I intend to walk Broadway from Battery Park to Central Park, but when I get to 34th Street and stop for a coffee to warm up, I decide that I've had enough of the pouring rain and head home to read and write and have some hot chocolate

Rainy days provide so many opportunities for photography.

Per Tom's suggestion...

10 Days: My Mission

Last week, I had the idea to set myself on a mission to photograph very specific things in New York City, to help concentrate my focus on the small details of everyday life here, as my time winds down.

Enlisting family and friends for their creative suggestions to add to my own, here is my photographic mission for my final 10 Days in The Big Apple.  Thanks to everyone who took the time to share their ideas. I am taking full creative liberty and hope you enjoy as much as I do!

1. Signs of spring/summer
2. Nature
3. Unique buildings, structures
4. New Yorkers
5. Things that I'll miss
6. Only in New York City
7. Artwork
8. Color
9. Fun billboards, flyers, posters
10. Connections to Alaska

And, I'm off...

11 Days: Governor's Island

A free, short ferry ride from Brooklyn's Pier 6 takes me and about a hundred others to Governor's Island to explore.  The views of Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Statue of Liberty are spectacular and abundant.  Individuals, couples and families on foot and on bikes soak in the sunny, beautiful day, enjoying the scenery and the endless parade of icecream trucks.
