We rise early, greeted with a drizzling rain and beautiful blue-grey skies and drive to Anchorage for a work meeting, followed by a stop at REI for some last-minute supplies and the grocery store for snacks. Then, we're back on the road heading for Palmer, for dinner with friends Chad, Addie and Fischer which is laid back and fun. And finally, we reach one of my favorite places on the planet - Hatcher's Pass, where we tuck in for the night beneath a midnight blue sky dotted with stars and a half moon cresting over the mountain peeks.
