Leaving Homer later than we'd planned to, we drive two and a half hours and make camp at Tern Lake, one of our favorite spots along the last section of the Sterling Highway before it turns into the Seward highway, heading north to Anchorage and south to Seward. We settle in for a good night's sleep, eager to head out again early in the morning.
