My wheels for the next two weeks! Riding this bike home to Brooklyn from the Rockaways in Queens is by far the scariest thing I've done while in New York City. Riding on the sidewalks, in the streets, trying to find bike lanes, avoiding car doors opening in my face, people coming around corners and walking out of stores, and kids jumping out in front of me tests my patience and abilities, and by the time I'm home, I'm exhausted and it takes ten minutes for my hands and butt cheeks to unclench!
Still, with my New York City bike map in hand, I'm eager to explore the bike trails in my neighborhood and beyond, if I dare.
