Thanks to those of you who posted your thoughts on whether the Marathon should go ahead or not.

There have been numerous debates going on about whether to cancel/postpone or hold the New York City this Sunday, November 4th.
Opponents against having the race believe that the resources and time of police, firefighters and medics should be focused on the recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy and not on the race. Advocates for having the race this weekend as planned believe that this shows the determination of New Yorkers and their ability to persevere through and recover from devastating circumstances.
I'm torn between the two sides and am curious what you think and why? Will you post a comment here and share your thoughts?

Yes! The NYC Marathon brings thousands of people from all over the world to compete. It's one of the major marathons that you have to qualify for. Canceling it would be a major disappointment for all those athletes and people who were going to travel there. Plus I heard on NPR where the mayor said it's not really taking any extra resources to put it on.
Do it!
i would go ahead with it
Go for it!

Hi Gail. Thanks for posting your opinion. Returning life to normal, hey?
Hi Jon. Thanks for sharing your thought. I just heard that it's been officially cancelled. Can't imagine the feedback the Mayor is going to get, but what a tough call to make!
